Books are good for you. Any member of Cybilized society knows that.

Nominations for the first-ever round of The Cybils book awards closed on November 20th, 2006. By the following week, category organizers posted the lists of nominees at the Cybils website. The nominating committees then had a little over a month to read and discuss the nominated titles, after which they whittled each list down to five very lucky finalists. The finalists will be announced on January 1st, 2007; the winners, February 2007.

I am on the Young Adult nominating committee along with Jackie, Mindy, Sara, and Tanita. Our category administrator, Jen, alphabetized the list of eighty nominated titles you'll see below. I will bold titles I've read, link to titles I've read and reviewed, and link to interviews I've conducted with authors.

Thanksgiving

Have a great weekend reading! I like your list, with links to your reviews and interviews. I think I need a version of this list for myself, where I keep track of which titles I've read. Sadly, it will not be all that many. But I'm reading Sold right now (fascinating, but sad).

Happy Thanksgiving, and happy books! And thanks for everything!

Re: Thanksgiving

Thank you, and you are welcome in return!

I am so happy to see such great nominees on ALL of the lists. I read many of what became YA, MG, and SF nominations prior to "Cybils" meaning anything more than "multiple Shepherds." ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for sharing. Of those books, I've only read 11 (9 of which I enjoyed), so I added most of them to my to-read list.
