Current Mood: awake

Teens and adults who are teen fiction aficionados should check out these programs! All of the following groups are:
- free of charge
- publisher-based (and totally legit)
- offering free advanced copies of books
Simon & Schuster has started up Pulse It. Teens between the ages of 14 and 18 may sign up. They are currently spotlighting three titles I've read - Private by Kate Brian, The Au Pairs by Melissa de la Cruz, and Uglies by Scott Westerfeld - and one I have not - A Girl Like Moi by Lisa Barham.
Henry Holt has the InGroup for teens ages 13 to 19. Like PulseIt, applicants will need to obtain parental consent to join up, so there's a form at the website for parents to fill out and send in. The InGroup is currently featuring In Search of Mockingbird by Loretta Ellsworth, which I want to read.
HarperCollins offers First Look for Teens as well as First Look for Adults. Note that adults may get the teen books too! Every month, they offer multiple books. Hopeful readers submit "why I want to read this book" blurbs for books which interest them. Drawings are held monthly. First Look for Teens is currently offering Someone Like Summer by M. E. Kerr, The Secret Life of Sparrow Delaney by Suzanne Harper, Saints of Augustine by P. E. Ryan, Billy Creekmore by Tracey Porter, and The Silenced by James DeVita.
Little, Brown recruits HipScouts. Applicants must be at least 13 years old. Adults may join. Through HipScouts, I received and read Betwixt by Tara Bray Smith.
