Poetry Friday: Wise Eyes by Hannah Teter
This week's poem comes from gold medalist Hannah Teter, who is currently touring the US with author Justina Chen Headley as part of the Girl Overboard Book Tour.

inner strength
the core of believeing
reaching out and receiving
coming in, going out
a loud whisper
  a silent shout
a beating breath
  a breathing heart
a long stare from wise eyes,
penetrating deep inside

Hannah is so cute. I love this poem, and the idea of a teen touring with Justina is a great one. They must be really connecting with just loads of poets and readers. Very cool.

How cool are THEY? Justina and Hannah get all of the cool points for this effort! :) I want to be a fly on the wall during the tour!

I wish our tour came to a town near you, Little Willow! Thanks for sharing Hannah's poem. She's an amazing, deep poet in addition to being an amazing snowboarder.
