Poetry Friday: Distant Rain by Shaun Tan

February 13th, 2009 (06:00 am)
thirsty

Current Mood: thirsty
Current Song: House score music

Have you ever wondered
what happens to all the
poems people write?

the poems they never
let anyone else read?

- the beginning of Distant Rain by Shaun Tan as published in his illustrated anthology Tales From Outer Suburbia

You simply must see this piece. The artist has expressed it as a lovely eight-page collage of words and pictures. It's quite effective and very easy to follow.

I'm glad you liked it too. That image of the poetry rain has stayed with me since I first read it.

It was raining on the day I read it. Fitting.
