Poetry Friday: All is Truth by Walt Whitman

December 3rd, 2010 (06:53 am)
thirsty

Current Mood: thirsty
Current Song: Without a Trace score music

Meditating among liars, and retreating sternly into myself, I see that there are really no liars or lies after all,
And nothing fails its perfect return - And that what are called lies are perfect returns,
And that each thing exactly represents itself, and what has preceded it,
And that the truth includes all, and is compact, just as much as space is compact,
And that there is no law or vacuum in the amount of the truth - but that all is truth without exception;
And henceforth I will go celebrate anything I see or am,
And sing and laugh, and deny nothing.

- from All is Truth by Walt Whitman

Hi! Is it okay if I start doing a Poetry Friday slot on my blog? I got the idea from you, so I'll credit you. :)

I tried the link you have at the bottom, but I'm not sure it's active anymore (though I've been getting some Firefox glitches lately.)

Cheers,
Kaz

Of course! Anyone may participate in Poetry Friday! It's something I picked up from another blog years ago. You can see the round-up of posts at A Year of Reading http://readingyear.blogspot.com/ each week!

Thank you for the link! :)

I've been reading a lot more poetry lately, and I thought it would be nice to share some of it.

Cheers,
Kaz

...and by "No bother," I meant YOU are not a bother! :) I welcome the dialogue. I don't get a lot of comments here. I know people read the blog, but they don't comment!

That happens ALL the time! I know what you mean. It makes me sad when I read an awesome post online somewhere, and there are no comments. I suppose we all ready through Google Reader these days... Hell, I'm reading YOUR blog on Google Reader, and I have an LJ account and f-list, so really I'm just as bad as everyone else. ;)

I lurk all the time on readergirlz - I should try to get more involved.
