Poetry Friday: Unwritten Poems by William Winter

January 9th, 2015 (06:00 am)
Current Song: Sledgehammer by Fifth Harmony

Fairy spirits of the breeze-
Frailer nothing is than these.
Fancies born we know not where-
In the heart or in the air;
Wandering echoes blown unsought
From far crystal peaks of thought;
Shadows, fading at the dawn,
Ghosts of feeling dead and gone:
Alas! Are all fair things that live
Still lovely and still fugitive?

I'm not sure about the "Alas!" I like the idea that all the fair things that have been, still are...lovely, and if not "fugitive," then at least still with us in some way!
