MTV Books is publishing a line of original fiction for teens. Though the line dominantly publishes realistic dramas, the line also offers sci-fi, horror, suspense, and romance. Some are thought-provoking and smartly shocking, while others are fun summer reads. Here are snapshot specs of the imprint's major fiction releases, in order of publication.

TadMack says:

I have to say that I'm excited about some of the MTV books we enjoyed during the Cybils being put into film - esp. the Caridad Ferrer(s) and O My Goth, which is quite, quite funny! But. I'm a little *less* excited about The Pursuit of Happiness being made into a film... Man, I just hope they get it right.

Re: TadMack says:

Wait, WHAT?! Tell me about this right now. I just scoured Tara's journal, thinking I missed another big announcement, and I didn't see anything about a movie. Tell me NOW.

Also: Did you see WHY I updated this booklist post? Did you see who has a book coming out from MTV Books in October 2008? CHRIS! GOLDEN!

A Question & Suggestions

Hi. I was wondering if you know what the Martha's Vineyard Summer books will be about.

And I wanted to thank you for running this website/blog. I find lots of great suggestions here, and I was also wondering if you'd mind suggesting some books I might like to read. I'm a fan of Sarah Dessen's books, and I love teen romance and drama. So ... any ideas?

I don't have a LiveJournal (*sigh*), but I'll check back to this post, in case you do reply.

Please and thank you.

P.S. Christopher Golden and MTV Books? Wow, from what I've heard about him and his books - mostly from this blog :) - that's an unexpected mix.

Jennifer has posted about the Vineyard books at her blog. Scroll down and you'll see mentions here and there throughout the past few months.

I too enjoy Sarah Dessen's novels. I recommend yuo check out the works of Deb Caletti:
and Melissa Lion:

Christopher Golden is fantastic! His books offer drama and romance - and horror.
