True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet books, film, and giveaway

The glamorous life isn't all it's cracked up to be - and that's shown clearly in two novels by Lola Douglas, True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet and its sequel, More Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet, which follow the fall and rise of a teen actress.

After a near-fatal overdose at a club, Morgan Carter undergoes a make-under and is sent to Indiana to live with her aunt and must pretend to be an "average" teenager at a "normal" high school. Will she be able to pretend to be someone she's not, or will her true identity be revealed? Will she be content with her new life, or will she return to Hollywood? You've got to read the books to find out!

Or, you know, read the books BEFORE you see the movie. The first book has been made into a film for Lifetime Television. The teleplay, based on the novel, was written by Elisa Bell. The movie, directed by Tim Matheson and starring Joanna Levesque (better known on the music scene as JoJo), will debut on Lifetime on TONIGHT, Saturday, August 9th at 9 PM PST/EST. The postergirlz named True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet one of the recommended reads for August. How's that for timing?

It gets better still! The author is offering up shiny new copies of her dazzling book for free to readergirlz. The first 4 unique comments in this thread at the readergirlz forum will win a signed copy of one of Lola's books. Click here to enter the giveaway.

Learn more about the books and the author at her website. Check out pictures from the film and read all about the author's trip to the movie set! Also drop by her blog tonight, where she'll be blogging live between 9 PM EST and 11 PM EST while the movie airs on the East Coast.
