Poetry Friday: The Wild Ride by Louise Imogen Guiney

Normally, I enter my Poetry Friday post early in the morning. Today, I had to wait until time permitted me to chose something appropriate for opening night. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go get ready to play an invisible girl . . . !

I hear in my heart, I hear in its ominous pulses,
All day, on the road, the hoofs of invisible horses,
All night, from their stalls, the importunate pawing and neighing.
