The Cybils: 2008 Young Adult Fiction Panel

In 2006, inspired by passionate book reviewers and readers, bloggers Anne Levy and Kelly Herold founded The Cybils Book Awards. "Cybils" is a loose acronym for Children's and YA Bloggers' Literary Awards.

The Cybils are truly for everyone and anyone who loves books. Starting on October 1st, readers of all ages may nominate their favorite books published in 2008 for kids and teens in relevant categories:

Fiction Picture Books
Non-Fiction Picture Books
Easy Readers
Middle Grade/Young Adult Non-Fiction
Middle Grade Fiction
Young Adult Fiction
Graphic Novels

I have been actively involved with the Cybils since its first year, when I was on the YA Fiction nominating panel. In 2007, I served on the Middle Grade Fiction nominating panel. This year, I'm proud to be one of the judges of YA Fiction. Look at the great company I'm keeping!

This year's logo for The Cybils was a collaborative effort. The book and mouse image was created by Lisa Fuller, a fantastically talented artist who happens to be my fabulous sister. I then created a slew of mock-up logos using this image. Cybils co-founder Anne found the perfect font, fixed the placement, and made the final product.

Download the flyer for The 2008 Cybils! Kudos to Sarah for the great design. It's clean and eye-catching, but still packed with information.
