Poetry Friday: A Snicker of Magic by Natalie Lloyd

Current Mood: sleepy
Current Song: Feels Like Home by Brooke Annibale

Today's poem comes from the novel A Snicker of Magic by Natalie Lloyd. Early in the book, the main character, Felicity, creates and recites this poem on the fly for her little sister:

"Frannie Jo lives in a house of stars.
She has a cloud for a pillow
And a comet for a car.
She smiles like a sunrise,
Cries a rainbow when she's hurt.
She'll dance across the sky tonight,
Then shake the stardust from her skirt."

Felicity is a memorable character. I think she would get along well with India Opal Buloni and Georgina Hayes.

Oooh, I really want to shake stardust from my skirt. My daughters loved this book - it's great to get this peek. Thank you! Happy spring!
