Poetry Friday: Rhapsody on a Windy Night by T.S. Eliot

March 24th, 2017 (06:00 am)

Current Mood: contemplative
Current Song: Houses by Noah Tauscher

Half-past three,
The lamp sputtered,
The lamp muttered in the dark.

The lamp hummed:
Regard the moon,
La lune ne garde aucune rancune,
She winks a feeble eye,
She smiles into corners.

- selected lines from Rhapsody on a Windy Night by T.S. Eliot

Why is the lamp still on at half past three? Must be a late night reader, like hubby. He would notice the moon and wind. They would infuse my dreams.

I am grateful for lampposts.
