Poetry Friday: Rhapsody on a Windy Night by T.S. Eliot

March 24th, 2017 (06:00 am)

Current Mood: contemplative
Current Song: Houses by Noah Tauscher

Half-past three,
The lamp sputtered,
The lamp muttered in the dark.

The lamp hummed:
Regard the moon,
La lune ne garde aucune rancune,
She winks a feeble eye,
She smiles into corners.

- selected lines from Rhapsody on a Windy Night by T.S. Eliot

Poetry Friday

I haven't read much Eliot since college, and all I really remember is those women, coming and going. This is lovely, especially the moon smiling "into corners." Thank you for sharing!
